Let ’s start baking!
1 Put white wine, a large glass of water, brown sugar, spices in the pot, and heat it over low heat.
2 Peel the pear, you can keep the whole, or you can cut and halve the pear in half, and put it in the pot when the liquid in the pot is about to boil.
3 Stew on low heat for 20-25 minutes, or until it can be easily inserted with a knife, remove from the pot.
4 Collect the juice on high heat until it thickens slightly and pour it into a small bowl.
5 Place the plate, sprinkle with a little spice powder, drizzle with sauce and enjoy!
This desserts can be served with nuts, ice cream, whipped cream, or mascarpone cheese. In winter, you can choose to use red wine to poach the pears.
You can also try using honey or rock sugar instead of brown sugar, which is more healthy!
The pears we used in the pictures are imported green beer pear, which has a soft taste. It can also be replace by other varieties except fragrant pears or the ones thats too small and too sweet.
Dry wines (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc) will reduce the sweetness, with more earthy, herbal flavor, and more highlight the sweetness of the pear itself. Sweet wines (Moscato, Gewürztraminer, Sauternes) will bring more fruity aromas, and it is easier to accept if you rarely drink alcohol.
